In the arid and hot climate of Shadow Villa, dealing with intense solar radiation and high temperatures throughout most seasons presented significant climatic challenges. The design team, therefore, prioritized the strategy of reducing the villa’s facade temperature as the primary architectural goal.
A double facade strategy, employed in several other projects like Amin Hozur Commercial Center, Verna Residential Villa Complex, Hayat Residential Complex, Ax Apartment Complex, and etc., was also implemented in Shadow Villa. The double facade approach in the Shadow Villa of Yazd ensures continuous shading on the villa’s facade, resulting in decreased ambient and lateral temperatures. The villa is divided into private and public sections, interconnected by a central yard. This design approach has addressed the climatic challenges of the region while providing both functional and aesthetic benefits.
